Become a SYSTEM-9 Red Ball Tutor

Share the system. Shape the coaches. Build your own coach education business.

SYSTEM-9 has changed how coaches teach tennis to 4–8 year olds: a clear 9-stage pathway, ready-made lesson plans and games, and a structure that keeps children playing for years. We’re now looking for experienced mini tennis coaches to take the Mini Red SYSTEM-9 course to clubs, schools and coaching teams in their own area, as accredited SYSTEM-9 Tutors.

If you love developing other coaches as much as you love coaching children, this is your next step.

What you’ll do

As a Red Ball Tutor, you deliver the 5-hour Mini Red SYSTEM-9 course to groups of up to 16 coaches, face to face, on court and in the classroom. You lead coaches through all 9 stages, from the self-bounce hit to speciality shots, and show them how to plan, assess and run sessions children love. You also assess each coach on court, so every SYSTEM-9 certificate stands for real ability.

Every course is delivered in person.

Why become a tutor

  • Run your own business. You book your own venues and set your own prices.
  • Everything is ready for you. Slides, delegate packs, workbooks, assessment forms and certificates are all provided.
  • Grow your reputation. You’ll be the SYSTEM-9 name in your area, recognised by the clubs and coaches you train.
  • Earn more than course fees. You receive 10% commission on SYSTEM-9 books and memberships bought with your referral code.
  • You’re never on your own. You get standardisation meetings, updates to the course and direct support from Andy Dowsett.
  • Develop yourself. Teaching coaches will sharpen your own coaching like nothing else.

Who we’re looking for

  • A Level 3 coaching qualification, or the equivalent
  • At least 3 years’ experience coaching players aged 4–8
  • A current enhanced DBS check (or the local equivalent), safeguarding training and first aid
  • Public liability insurance of at least £5 million
  • A natural communicator who enjoys helping other coaches improve

Your path to accreditation

  1. Attend: complete the Mini Red SYSTEM-9 course and pass its assessment.
  2. Train: join a one-day tutor training day, face to face or online, covering delivery, assessment and quality standards.
  3. Deliver: run your first course while you’re observed in person.
  4. Licensed: receive your accreditation and start booking courses in your area.

Questions

Can I deliver the course online?
No. Red Ball courses are delivered face to face only, so every coach learns on court.

Do I need my own venue?
No. Most courses are hosted by clubs, schools and county associations, and you can book any suitable venue with court and classroom space.

Is my area exclusive?
Tutor licences are non-exclusive, so more than one tutor can work in an area.

What if I don’t pass the observed delivery first time?
You’ll get written feedback and a second observed delivery at no extra training fee.
